HR Director | Branford CT

The Town of Branford, a vibrant shoreline community of 28,000 residents, is proud to be a

seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Human Resources to join our senior leadership

team and help shape the future of our workforce. This position oversees all aspects of HR

management, including employee development, recruitment and talent management, benefits

administration, employee relations, HRIS, risk management and policy innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

 Lead and manage the Town’s HR staff/department, serving as a trusted advisor to senior

leadership and others while leading and developing effective HR management policies

and practices.

 Develop and implement innovative HR programs, policies, and employee benefits.

 Recruit, hire, and retain employees

 Foster a culture of professional growth, collaboration, and accountability.

 Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining

agreements.

 Provide guidance and strategic planning: employee relations, performance management,

compensation management, labor relations, risk management, budget management and

workforce planning.

 Manage all collective bargaining processes and agreements.

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree: Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration,

or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

 Minimum of 10 plus years of progressive HR leadership/management experience.

Experience in union negotiations is preferred.

 Strong knowledge and experience with employment law, benefits administration, and

labor relations.

 Proven ability to design and implement HR programs that enhance employee engagement

and organizational effectiveness.

 Demonstrated exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Reports to: First Selectman

Salary Range: $90,000 to $124,500, salary increases July 1, 2026
